How to Create Your TAKiR Account
Step-by-step guide to creating your TAKiR account
1 Go to the TAKiR Homepage
Navigate to www.takir.org to begin the account creation process.
Make sure you have a stable internet connection. The site works best on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge browsers.
2 Click "Sign Up" Button
Look for the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner of the TAKiR homepage navigation bar.
If you don't see the button, make sure you're on takir.org and look at the top navigation bar.
3 Complete the Signup Form
Fill out the signup form with your account information. This process has several parts:
Enter Username and Email
Choose a unique username and enter your email address. Your username will be how you log in to TAKiR.
Username must be unique. If taken, try adding numbers or variations.
Select Your Country
Click on the flag dropdown to select your country. This ensures your phone number has the correct country code.
The default is US (+1). Make sure to select your country before entering your phone number.
Enter Name and Create Account
Enter your first and last name, then click the "Create Account" button to submit your registration.
All fields are required. Double-check your information before clicking Create Account.
4 Verify Your Email
Check your email inbox for a verification message from TAKiR and click the verification link. This will take you to a page confirming your email has been verified.
✓ Your account is now created!
⚠️ Important: Only click the verification link ONCE. If you click it again, you will see an error message, but don't worry - your email is already verified.
Check your spam/junk folder if you don't see the email within 5 minutes. Add contact@takir.org to your contacts. The verification page confirms your account creation.
5 Log Into Your Account
Now that your account is created, return to TAKiR and sign in with your credentials:
Click Sign In
Look for the "Sign In" button in the top right corner of the TAKiR homepage navigation bar.
If you don't see the Sign In button, make sure you're on the TAKiR homepage.
Enter Your Credentials
Enter the username and password you created in Step 3, then click the "Sign In" button.
Make sure you're using the username (not email) and the exact password you created. Passwords are case-sensitive.
6 Enter MFA Code
Check your phone for a text message with a 6-digit verification code. Enter this code in the MFA verification screen.
The code expires in 5 minutes. If you don't receive it, check that you entered the correct phone number during signup. You can request a new code if needed.
7 Read and Accept Consent
You will be prompted to read and agree to the TAKiR consent form. This is an important legal document about how your data will be used:

You'll see a prompt to read the consent form. Click "Continue" to proceed.
This step is required - you cannot skip the consent process.
Acknowledge Each Page
Read each page of the consent form carefully. You must check the acknowledgment box at the bottom of each page to continue.
Tip: On the first page, you can download a blank consent form to review offline if you need more time.
Take your time to read each section. You can return later if you download the form first.
Answer Consent Questions
You must answer "Yes" to the primary consent questions to participate in TAKiR services. The other questions are optional.
Important: If you do not consent affirmatively to the required questions, you will not be able to use TAKiR services.
Only the primary consent questions are required. You can decline optional permissions.
Submit Your Consent
After answering all questions, click "I Agree & Create Account" to finalize your consent.
Make sure you've answered all required questions before submitting.
8 Complete Your Demographics
Fill in your demographic information to complete your TAKiR account setup:

You'll be prompted to complete demographic questions. This information helps TAKiR provide better services.
This step is required to complete your account setup.
Enter Your Information
Fill in your date of birth and answer whether you identify as Black/African American or of African descent. Select your birth month, day, and year from the dropdown menus.
All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Be accurate with your information.
Complete Registration
Select only the options that are true to you - all could be true, none could be true, or any combination. The image shows an example where all options are selected. After making your selections, click the "Complete Registration" button to finalize your account.
Make sure all required fields are filled before clicking Complete Registration. Only select options that apply to you.
9 Account Created - View Programs
Your TAKiR account is now created! You'll receive a confirmation email and be returned to the My Account page. Click the "Manage Programs" button to see eligible programs you can join.
If you don't see the Manage Programs button, refresh the page. Check your email for the confirmation message.
